Privacy Policy relating to Clinical Work.

When you contact me to find out about my counselling services I will collect contact information and the information I need to be able to establish whether I am able to help. This information is kept in strict confidence and is not shared with anyone unless:
a) you give me express permission to do so, or
b) I have a legal obligation to do so.

If you do not attend a clinical appointment with me, this being either an assessment or a counselling session, the information I have collected will be kept for 12 months.

If you do engage in a clinical appointment with me, I maintain your clinical records for 6 years from the date of your last contact with me.

Under the GDPR legislation effective from 25 May 2018 you are entitled to have access to the information I maintain about you and if you wish to do this I ask that you make an email request to: karenhanson.counselling@gmail.com.
